*Update, the experiment failed… Read more here*
A quick post today because I’m enjoying the glorious sunshine!
I’m going to start looking at some of the different ways you can make more money, online and offline, and one of the classic go to’s you hear of people is filling in surveys.
I tried this back when I was a student but all I could find were shady websites I’d never heard of where you filled out 25 surveys and got a £5 voucher to spend anywhere… I only received about 4 surveys from them anyway so never got close to the mystery prize.
But recently I found something way more reliable, and that’s You Gov Surveys.
You Gov are reputable and their survey results are used a lot on the news so I knew they were going to be far more reliable than any ones else.
Here’s a quick rundown of the need to know about their survey scheme.
- 5000 Points = £50
- 50 Points A Survey
- Into Survey Gives You 100 Points
- 8-10 Minutes Per Survey
- I’ve received 9 surveys in 14 days
- They’ve got A Mobile App
They also have a prize draw where you can use your points to enter the draw to win more money but that’s definitely to be avoided, just a way for them not to have to pay out as much. You’re much better just filling them out and waiting till you hit the threshold.
The return isn’t the best, if the rate I get surveys carries on like this It will be 156 days until I get enough surveys to hit the threshold, about 5 months. And at 8 minutes per survey that’s 13.33 hours to get £50 which is £3.75 an hour…
You can do these surveys in your spare time, on the bus, before bed, even on the toilet. So it’s still worth the £3.75 an hour in my opinion, because it’s not asking a lot to get an extra £100 a year.
I’m at 550 points as of writing this and will write a much more detailed guide when I actually hit the 5000 points so can give you a better time frame and all the details.
One last thing…
You get a referral code where you can refer a friend and if they click the link and fill out 6 surveys you get an extra 200 Points. Here’s mine if anyone wants to give it a shot and do it with me https://yougov.co.uk/refer/z7I3-6G6Pmk7iAi6KJs8Nw/ Or if you don’t want to use my referral code head straight to yougov.co.uk and fill out the application.
If you do sign up why not share your referral code in the comments below and anyone reading this in the future can use your code and we can help each other out.
The application is straightforward, where you live, ethnicity, work, all that kinda stuff. It’s all held secure and I think they use it to make sure they get an even distribution of people surveyed, which may mean depending on how you answer will change how many surveys you get sent but I’m not sure, just be as honest as possible, it’s always the best way.
I’ll update once I’ve reached the payout threshold.
