I don’t know about you, but I get some amount of rubbish coming in through my inbox, so many emails I ignore or just open and delete. Not even spam emails just old newsletters I signed up for but don’t read any more, websites I bought something from many months back and still get updates about.
What a waste of brain space.
So I’ve started unsubscribing, with the aim to unsubscribe to everything I don’t regularly read, I’ve been doing it for about a month now and it is amazingly nice but strangely weird that I’ll check my emails several times and there won’t be anything there.
I found an online tool that works reasonably well called unroll.me which connects to your email account and you can go down a list unsubscribing to everything you don’t want anymore. It then stays connected and takes data on how you interact with your emails so it’s worth keeping it for a few days while it does its thing then deleting your account.
Or the alternative is, everytime an email comes in and you go to ignore it, open it and unsubscribe instead, it’s very liberating.
